PURPOSE:To generate an oil film pressure over a wide area, by providing a crowning, having a ridge line, in many scroll pressure receiving surfaces, formed into a plane sector shape, in the case of an annular thrust bearing. CONSTITUTION:A swivel scroll 19 is combined with a fixed scroll 21. An annular thrust bearing 38 is mounted interposing between the swivel scroll 19 and an upper part bearing retainer 25. Many flat scroll pressure receiving surfaces (pad) 39, opposed to a swivel scroll end plate 19a, radially provide supply oil grooves 40 forming a plane sector shape. A crowning 51, having a ridge line, is provided in the scroll pressure receiving surface 39. In this way, an oil film pressure can be generated by a wedge effect between the thrust bearing 38 and the swivel scroll 19.
