PURPOSE:To stop the voice message exchange optionally from the caller side to transit the communication to facsimile communication by sending a specific touch tone signal from the caller side so as to stop the operation of a recording and reproducing means of the called party side thereby transiting the communication to the facsimile communication. CONSTITUTION:When an incoming call is generated and an incoming detection signal is sent from a network control circuit 1 to a control section 14, the control section 14 starts the reproduction of a recording and reproducing device 13 when the voice message reply function is set. When the caller side desires to finish the voice message exchange on its way or to start the facsimile communication from the beginning, a specific touch tone signal is sent. When the signal is detected by the called party side, the control section 14 stops immediately the operation of the recording and reproducing device 13 and the procedure is transited to the routine facsimile procedure. Thus, the exchange of the voice message is stopped optionally at the caller side to initiate the facsimile communication.
