PURPOSE:To prevent the mischange of an instruction sentence by discriminating an instruction dentence from a comment sentence included in a source program. CONSTITUTION:A central control unit CPU 1 which controls an editing system as a whole is connected to an instruction sentence/comment sentence discriminating module 2 which produces the information to discriminate an instruction sentence from a comment sentence included in a source program as well as to a comment sentence editing module 3 which refers to the discriminating information produced by the module 2 and accepts a source program editing request which is supplied with operation of an input/output device 4 including a display 41, a keyboard 42, etc., via buses respectively. In such constitution, it is possible to prevent automatically the occurrence of the mischange of the instruction sentence while only correcting the comment sentence of the source program.
