PURPOSE:To produce a molded product of a polyamide having a high melting point, by melt molding a mixture consisting of a polyamide consisting essentially of hexamethylene terepthalamide and an aromatic hydroxy compound, extracting and removing the above-mentioned hydroxy compound. CONSTITUTION:An intimate mixture, consisting of (A) 100pts.wt. polyamide, containing >=70mol.%, preferably 80mol.% hexamethylene terephtalamide repeating units and having preferably 320-370 deg.C melting point and >=0.4, particularly 1-3 intrinsic viscosity (measured in 0.5g/dl concentration in concentrated sulfuric acid at 30 deg.C) and (B) 20-500pts.wt. aromatic hydroxy compound, preferably satisfying the formula [M is molecular weight of the component (B); n is the number of hydroxyl groups in the component (B)] and having a lower pKa value than that (10) of phenol is melt molded, preferably at 220-330 deg.C and the component (B) is extracted and removed from the molded product to afford the aimed molded product. |
