PURPOSE:To improve the heat resistance, cold resistance, resistance against chemicals, sealing performance, and mechanical strength by attaching and compounding a graphite sheet onto the both side surfaces of a heat resisting rubber compound layer. CONSTITUTION:A graphic sheet is a flexible graphite sheet which is obtained by using the natural graphite as heat resisting raw material. The heat resisting rubber compound is prepared by compounding the heat resisting materials with which the physical properties can be improved into the rubber compound made of natural rubber and synthetic rubber as base material. The both surfaces of the heat resisting rubber compound are applied and compounded with the graphite sheet, and the sealing performance for resisting the high temperature of 500 deg.C can be sufficiently maintained in the actual use. Further, since the graphite sheet is soft, the need of high tightening pressure such as in case of asbestos joint sheet is avoided, and the service life of the gasket can be prolonged.
