PURPOSE:To obtain mechanical parts having an excellent rolling fatigue characteristic by building up a high-manganese steel system on at least the rolling surfaces of the mechanical parts. CONSTITUTION:The high-manganese steel used for building up is the high- manganese steel consisting, by weight %, of 0.7-1.5% C, <=0.5% Si, 10-15% Mn, and the balance Fe and unavoidable impurities and having the high rolling fatigue characteristic. Or said steel is the high-manganese steel consisting, by weight %, of 0.7-1.5% C, <=0.5% Si, 10-15% Mn, contg. 1 or >=2 kinds among <=6% Ni, <=3% Cr, <=1.5% Cu, <=3% Mo, <=3% V, and <=2% Ti therein and consisting of the balance Fe and unavoidable impurities and having the high rolling fatigue characteristic. The mechanical parts having the excellent rolling fatigue characteristic is thus obtd. by merely subjecting the surfaces of the parts to building up.
