PURPOSE:To efficiently treat a large amount of waste water while usual aeration intensity is kept, in a fluidized type waste water treatment apparatus, by forming a large number of inverted cone-shaped recessed parts to the entire region of the bottom part of a treatment tank in a state adjacent to each other and respectively arranging air diffusion devices in the recessed parts. CONSTITUTION:Waste water is supplied to a treatment tank 11 filled with a predetermined amount of microorganism carriers and, subsequently, aeration gas is blown in the waste water from a large number of air diffusion devices 12.... Whereupon, the waste water is recirculated and allowed to flow in the direction shown by an arrow by the rising action of the aeration gas. With this, the microorganism carriers are also similarly recirculated and fluidized and the contact chance of the carriers with the waste water is increased to perform the purification of the waste water. During this aeration treatment, the microorganism carriers in the waste water are sedimented and ready to entirely accumulate on the inclined surfaces of a large number of hopper parts 13... but rapidly blown up toward the upper parts of the hopper parts 13... in the direction along the inclined surfaces by the aeration gas to be again fluidized. Therefore, the microorganism carriers are always fluidized in the waste water and almost all of them can be allowed to effectively contribute to the treatment of the waste water.
