PURPOSE:To contrive to shorten reaction time and to make synthesis ratio efficient, by adding >=5wt.% water to fats and oils and producing ester wax by alcoholysis. CONSTITUTION:Vegetable, animal or synthetic fats and oils are used as fats and oils of raw material. 6-24C mono- or dihydric aliphatic alcohol is used as a higher alcohol, the other raw material. Any lipase usable for hydrolysis of fats and oils may be used and lipase having low hydrolyzing ability of ester wax and position selectivity for glyceride is preferable. The amount of water used in alcoholysis reaction is >=5wt.%, preferably about 10-300wt.% and depends upon kinds of fats and the oils and the lipase. The optimum condition for reaction temperature is determined based on melting points of raw material and reaction product and thermostability of lipase.
