PURPOSE:To burn fuel satisfactorily, by a method wherein the fuel, mixed with air, is burnt so that the combustion is performed in accordance with the gradient of a magnetic field generated by a magnetism generating means. CONSTITUTION:A reticulate platinum catalyst unit 6 is formed as a combustion unit above a catalyst supporting unit 5, projected on the upper end of a fuel vessel 4. Fuel (such as gasoline or the like), impregnated in a fuel impregnating material in the fuel vessel 4, is burnt in the platinum catalyst unit 6 by air, supplied through an air conduit 7 for supplying air. An electromagnet having circular plates as a mutually opposing magnetism generating means is arranged at a position Pe at both sides of the fuel vessel 4 so as to pinch the upper part of the same. The gasoline G, supplied to the fuel vessel 4, is burnt in the platinum catalyst unit 6 under a condition that the gradient of magnetic field, generated by the electromagnet arranged at the position Pe, is effecting. According to this constitution, the fuel is burnt satisfactorily.
