PURPOSE:To increase sealing capability between separators by forming the flat surface, where is in contact with a sealing member, in the whole periphery of the separator. CONSTITUTION:In a fuel cell fabricated by stacking unit cells 1 and sealing members 6 each of which surrounds the periphery of the unit cell via separators with ribs 5, tunnel-like gas passages 5c are opened from the inlet side to outlet side of each separator 5 and the whole periphery surface, where is in contact with the sealing member 6, of the separator 5 is made flat. When the cell stack is assembled, the sealing member is held between the flat peripheries of the separators and the cell stack is uniformly fastened. Therefore, high sealing capability is ensured. |
