PURPOSE:To obtain a sensor which makes Nernst response in a wide concn. range, has a high response speed and is easy to handle by forming a sensitive film of PVC plasticized by o-nitrophenyloctyl ether. CONSTITUTION:An internal electrode 5 and an internal liquid 6 are housed in an electrode body 1 connected with a supporting pipe 2 and a lower outside pipe 3 via an O-ring 4. The sensitive film 7 consisting of the PVC plasticized by the o-nitrophenyloctyl ether is formed at the detecting end of the electrode body 1 so as to cover the aperture thereof. Although the compsn. of the film 7 is not limited, the use of the PVA and the o-nitrophenyloctyl ether compounded at, for example, 0.1:5-4:0.01 ratio by weight is preferable in terms of the responsiveness to surfactants. Then, the sensor makes the Nernst response with the cationic, anionic and amphoteric surfactants in a wide range. Since an ion associated body is not used, the time for synthesizing the ion associated body is eliminated and the concn. of the surfactant is known is a few seconds simply by immersing the sensor in the sample. |
