PURPOSE:To obtain an optionally formable YBaCuO based ceramic superconductor having a high critical temperature by humidifying a blend powder containing a raw material using BaO as a Ba source, melting the blend powder at a given temperature while heating, forming the melted powder and sintering the formed powder. CONSTITUTION:BaO as a BaO source is blended with other material powder as a raw material for an YBaCuO based ceramic superconductor. The resultant blend powder is then allowed to stand in the air to adsorb moisture. The humidified blend powder is subsequently melted by heating at 400-500 deg.C and the aimed compound of a desired shape is then formed from the resultant melt and sintered. |
