PURPOSE:To increase line speed and to improve productivity by reducing the pick-up of molten metal from a plating bath onto a steel strip thereby preventing the production of splashes during gas wiping. CONSTITUTION:At the surface of metal hot dipping liquid, a pair of hith speed rotating bodies 2, 2' provided with rugged patterns or vanes 7, 7' on the surfaces rotating in the directions opposite from the advancing direction of a steel plate to be plated are provided on both sides of the steel strip. Therefore, the pick-up of molten metal 1 is reduced. Further, a pair of moving magnetic field generators 5, 5' are disposed in both side parts of the steel strip to be plated to apply magnetic forces in the directions opposite from the advancing direction of the steel strip and to wipe off the molten metal stuck on both side parts of the steel strip. Therefore, no splashes are produced during gas wiping of gas wiping devices 6, 6'. |
