A multi-purpose portable alarm device comprises an alarm 9 coupled to a pressure sensitive pad 1, the alarm being activated by removal of pressure from the pad. The pad 1 has a normally open circuit to a lead 3 with a contact 4 which can be opened to allow the lead to be placed around an immovable object. When the contact 4 is closed again, a closed circuit is provided which, if it is broken by breaking the lead 3, activates the alarm 9. The alarm continues to sound until the device is eset by means of a key operated master switch 10 which may be hidden from view. <IMAGE> |
