PURPOSE:To enable smooth chamferring work efficiently by travelling a lapping tape with tension being applied thereon, then pushing one end of a work against a groove through the lapping tape under the condition where the work can move freely in single plane. CONSTITUTION:A motor 15 rotates a roll 14 so as to travel a lapping tape 12 in the direction of an arrow, and a powder brake 16 functions to apply predetermined tension onto the lapping tape 12. When pressure is applied by an air-cylinder 19 through a pressurizing jig 18 such that a plate glass 11 is pushed against the groove section in a base 17 through the travelling lapping tape 12, edge of the plate glass 11 is machined. Here, two edges of A and B are machined by the lapping tape having the width same with that of the plate glass 11, while two edges at C are machined through deformation of the lapping tape at wider portion than the width of the plate glass 11. |
