PURPOSE:To shorten the carrying pitch of work by constructing such that a work is moved to the side of a carrying line through a work displacing means at any one of a side milling station or pre-stage or post-stage station. CONSTITUTION:A work A is displaced to a machining position only at a side milling station, i.e. second station 16, and positioned on a carrying line at the opposite side milling cutter at pre-stage and post-stage stations 14, 15, 17, 18. Consequently, the work A does not interfere with a side milling cutter 10 even if the carrying pitch P1 between works A, A is shortened, resulting in a compact transfer machining line.
