<p>For sorting pieces of meat, a sorting device contains a fixed conveyor belt (1, 2) with weighing means (7) and means (3, 4) for measuring the thickness of the fat layer. In the direction of conveyance, a movable conveyor belt (8) is connected to the fixed one, which movable conveyor belt (8) is swung between a number of positions controlled by a computer to which the measurements are fed.
