PURPOSE:To increase the holding capacity of a recovered material in a recovery electrode and to enhance separation and recovery efficiencies of an isotope presetting the gradient of an electric field formed between electrodes while synchronizing with the pulses of laser beams in the reverse direction by every pulses of laser beams. CONSTITUTION:Pulse-like laser beams 10 oscillated from a laser beam oscillator 13 are projected for vapor flows 5 introduced into the light reaction parts 9 of a recovery electrode 6. At this time, only sepecified isotope U-235 contained in the vapor flows 5 is selectively excited, ionized and converted into a cation. On the other hand, prescribed voltage is periodically impressed between anodes 7 and cathodes 8 constituting the recovery 6 from a pulse electric source device 14 in accordance with the output of the pulse-like laser beams and the gradient of an electric field is formed. Since the gradient of the electric field is preset in the reverse direction by every pulse-like laser beams L, recovered materials are held on whole surfaces of the anodes 7 and the cathodes 8.
