PURPOSE:To form an image by using a lipid membrane holding photosensitive chromoprotein which receives visible light and produces an ion transferring function so that a change of ion concn. or a change of the membrane potential of the lipid membrane by the transfer of ions is made visible. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium having a lipid membrane 3 is irradiated with visible light according to information to be recorded. The lipid membrane 3 holds photosensitive chromoprotein 2 which receives visible light and produces an ion transferring function and a change of ion concn. or a change of the membrane potential of the lipid membrane 3 by the transfer of ions by the chromoprotein 2 which received visible light is made visible. Bacteriorhodopsin or halorhodopsin may be utilized as the chromoprotein 2. The chromoprotein may be held in a membrane of ribosome consisting of two lipid membranes 3a, 3c. The recording medium using a biochemical reaction has high sensitivity and high resolving power. In a dry state, the medium can be stored without sensitizing. When water is supplied to the medium, a high quality image can be formed. The formed image can be fixed by drying the medium, the image is vanished by changing the pH and the medium can be reused. |
