PURPOSE:To generate switching pulses without generating a delay in a generating time, by a method wherein the switching pulse is generated by employing a hard timer and a scheduling memory in an one-chip microcontroller. CONSTITUTION:A scheduling memory 6 is constituted of a pulse width describing unit 2 and a pulse pattern describing unit 1 and the content of the pulse width describing unit 2 is compared with the value of a timer 7 by a comparator 9. When a time, corresponding to a pulse width, is achieved by the result of the comparison, a pulse output permission signal 4 is outputted from the comparator 9. A pulse pattern from the pulse pattern describing unit 1 is supplied to a high-speed output port 3 by the signal 4 whereby a switching pulse is generated. At this time, the generating timing of said output permission signal 4 is operated by dividing said switching pulse width in time to before and after the reference time point of 1/2 of the period of switching, therefore, the high- speed and correct switching pulse may be generated.
