An essentially disc-shaped button consists of a hardened plastic mass and exhibits a smooth, polished top surface. A number of LEDs and a printed circuit board with circuit components for intermittent control of the LEDs are embedded in the plastic mass. Furthermore, from the bottom side of the button two connection pins stand out, which are connected in an electrically conducting manner to conductor paths on the printed circuit board.
