PURPOSE:To attain the stable recording and reproducing against a dust and a scratch by providing one level difference in a part of a rotational light recording carrier. CONSTITUTION:In a card 9 including a support 1 in a card-shaped case 2, at least one level difference 8b is provided at a part of the carrier 1. Consequently, the carrier 1 is held to the card-shaped case 2 by the level difference 8b, the level difference 8b is provided, a distance from the light incident surface of the carrier 1 up to a light recording medium layer (medium layer) 30 comes to be larger, and the thickness of the support 1 can be formed thickly. Since a light quantity to arrive at the medium layer 30 from a light incident surface is increased at the time of recording and reproducing the information, the decrease in the light quantity due to the influence of the dust, scratch, etc., stuck to the light incident surface can be prevented. Thus, the stable information can be recorded and reproduced.
