PURPOSE:To completely separate a luminance signal and a chrominance signal by extracting three sample values required for a demodulation from a digitized video signal and operating the respective chrominance signal components of R, G, B from these sample values. CONSTITUTION:An NTSC composite video signal inputted from an input signal terminal 1 is digitized by a clock locked to a phase to a color burst by an A/D converter 3. Delay circuits 18a, 18b respectively delay the input video signal by one sample period and output. An R arithmetic circuit 19a, a G arithmetic circuit 19b and a B arithmetic circuit 19c apply the operation of a multiplication and an addition to the three composite video signals outputted from the converter 3, the circuit 18a and the circuit 19b and the respective signal components of R, G, B are demodulated and outputted from terminals 2a-2c. According to the circuit of this constitution, since the sample values used for the demodulation are three to a minimum, an area in which the cross talk of the luminance signal and the chrominance signal is generated can be made minimum on a screen and the luminance signal and the chrominance signal are completely separated.
