PURPOSE:To eliminate the dust on the magnetic disk surface and to prevent its re-sticking by providing a groove part extending in the minor length direction of a rail part over shell part from the rail face of a magnetic head slider and providing a vent hole penetrating from the face located at the groove part and opposing to the magnetic recording medium of the shell part to the back face. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head slider 2 having a magnetic head 1 has the tapered part 3 generating gaseous bearing action and a rail part 4 by superposing a shell part 11, a groove 5 is provided on the rail part 4 and connected to the vent hole 6 provided on the shell part 11. When the dust 9 stuck on a magnetic disk 10 reaches the groove 5 by passing through the tapered part 3 rail part 4, it is guided to the face of the magnetic head slider 2 via the vent hold 6 by passing the groove 5 by releasing from the surface of the magnetic disk 10 because of there being difference (Pr-Pg) in the pressure Pr having compressed air by the rail face and that Pg inside the groove 6 on the dust 19. Thus dust is thus discharged and no dust is stuck on the magnetic disk 10 any more.
