PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic disk device which is compact with superior workability of its assemblage and high reliability by constructing an integrated type base plate mounted with an inner rotor type spindle motor. CONSTITUTION:A rotor part consisting of a rotor yoke 6 and a rotor magnet 7 is the inner rotor type situated on the inner circumferential side of a stator part consisting of a stator core 9 and a stator coil 8. A space comprising magnetic disks 3 is formed on a hermetically sealed enclosure surrounded by the base plate 10 and a cover 11, where the stator core 9 and a bearing 13 and also a dust-proof seal 14 are disposed to the base plate 10. By this method, a magnetic disk device of compactness, superiority in assembly and high reliability can hence be obtained.
