PURPOSE:To improve the S/N of a reproduced color signal by using a comb-line filter so as to record a luminance signal and a chrominance signal separately and reproducing the signals through the comb-line filter. CONSTITUTION:A composite video signal from a terminal 1 is separated into a luminance signal Y and a chrominance signal C by a luminance signal/ chrominance signal separator 2'. The signal Y is modulated by an FM modulator 15 and the signal C is converted into a low frequency by a frequency converting circuit 16. Both signals are amplified by a recording amplifier 18 via an adder 17 and fed to a video head 20. Switches 19, 32 are switched to the position P at reproduction and a reproducing signal from the head 20 is amplified by a reproducing amplifier 21 and fed to an HPF 22 and an LPF 23. An FM modulation luminance signal is separated and subjected to FM demodulation, converted into a high frequency signal by a frequency conversion circuit 25 while a low frequency conversion chrominance signal is outputted by the HPF 22 and reproducing signal noise due to adjacent crosstalk is reduced through a C type combline filter comprising a 1H delay line 26 and a substructor 27. Thus, the S/N of the reproduced color signal is improved.
