PURPOSE:To produce a high-speed tool steel in which segregation can be reduced even in a large steel ingot, by preparing a steel contg. specific ratios of C, Si, Mn, Cr, W, Mo, V, Ti, N and Al. CONSTITUTION:The steel material contg., by weight, 0.5-3.0% C, <=2.0% Si, <=1.0% Mn, 20-10% Cr, 2.0-30% W+2Mo, 0.5-0.6% V, 0.005-0.10% Ti, 0.02-0.07% N and <=0.03% Al is prepared. The sound steel ingot in which the granular segregation is eliminated even in the large-sized steel ingot and is useful as the high-speed tool steel is thus obtd.
