PURPOSE:To increase the liquid leakage resistance of an alkaline battery by subjecting parts of the terminal leads of the battery to chemical treatments such as sealing agent application, hot melt resin coating and epoxy resin molding. CONSTITUTION:Composite sealing agents 7'' and 8'' consisting of or principally consisting of a polyamide or asphalt system resin are applied to parts of the terminal leads 7' and 8' of a positive and a negative lead 7 and 8 for an alkaline electrolyte battery. Next, parts of the sealing agents 7'' and 8'' are coated with hot melt resins 7''' and 8'''. After that, the terminal leads 7 and 8 are incorporated in a secondary battery or the like by being molded with epoxy resins 7'''' and 8''''. Since the sealing agents 7'' and 8'' are reinforced with the hot melt resins 7''' and 8''' and the connections between these members are fixed with the epoxy resins 7'''' and 8'''', such as alkaline battery has a greatly improved liquid leakage resistance. |
