For storage in order to enable the playback of transmissions accompanied by an identification code, such as traffic announcements from broadcast transmitters, it is proposed that storage of the transmission or transmitted information be initiated by the appearance of the identification code while the latter is being transmitted, a reset to the initial condition being carried out, in particular at the end of the identification code, and/or a control signal being also stored at the end of the storage. The information storage can be aborted manually, a further reset being carried out automatically at the end of the information playback. As a development, provision is made for the initiation of the playback to be aborted or blocked while the identification code is being received and further storage to be carried out.
