PURPOSE:To raise the rigidity of a containing housing, and to exactly record information contained in a light beam to a photosensitive body, by forming in a small way a long hole for emitting a light beam, formed in the containing housing. CONSTITUTION:A light source 3, a light beam deflecting means 4 and an image forming lens system 7 are contained and installed in an integral containing housing 21, and also, on a side wall 21b of the containing housing 21 positioned immediately behind the image forming lens system 7, a long hole 21c running along the main scanning direction of a light beam 2 deflected by the light beam deflecting means 4, is formed, and the light beam guide through the long hole 21c is guided to a photosensitive body 8 through a mirror 9. Accordingly, it will suffice that length and an area of the long hole 21c for guiding the light beam 2, formed in the containing housing 21 are small. In such a way, a mechanical rigidity of the containing housing 21 is improved, and information contained in the light beam can be recorded exactly to the photosensitive body 8.
