PURPOSE:To obtain the titled microorganism, capable of producing remarkable effects, such as body weight gain or improvement of feed efficiency, by administering as a live bacterial agent to mammals, birds, fishes and other animals and useful as a safe feed or feed additive. CONSTITUTION:Bacillus subtilis C-3102 (FERM BP-1096), newly separated from the natural world and having mycological properties shown in the table is cultivated in a nutrient culture medium containing a carbon source, nitrogen source, inorganic substances, vitamins, amino acids. etc., at pH 5-9, preferably pH 6-8 and 20-50 deg.C, preferably 35-40 deg.C for 12hr-7 days to afford a culture or washed bacterial cells, which are directly used. Alternatively, an additive is added and dried or treatment, such as preparation of a pharmaceutical, is applied. The resultant material is directly used or added to a feed and administered to animals. |
