PURPOSE:To omit the use of a special pin as well as the interruption of a program evaluating job by transferring the information on the memory capacity stored in a memory to a mode register only in an initial setting state and using said information as the memory capacity limit information. CONSTITUTION:When the power supply for an evaluating microcomputer 1 is applied a prescribed address is set at a program counter 6 and the information on the memory capacity is read out of the relevant address of a program instruction. This read value is read by a mode register 5 by the write signal produced from a gate 4 when both an initial resetting signal 3 and a clock signal 2 are active. The register 5 controls the counter 6 via a signal line 10 and limits the capacity of a program memory 8. No writing job is usually performed to the register 5 in a resetting state and therefore the program evaluating job is never interrupted. |
