PURPOSE:To enable the separation of two sheets of paper or film to be operated automatically by providing a guiding means for the two sheets of paper or film and a delivering means which delivers one of the two in front of the guiding means, and then placing a pushing means between the guiding means and the delivering means. CONSTITUTION:A sensitized paper 7 and a transferred paper 10, which are delivered from a pressure roller 16, are led to a guide 1 (guiding means) in a separation device as they adhere to each other. And then, they are delivered still forward by a roller 2. Subsequently, when the margin portion 7a thereof is detected by a sensor 4, the sensitized paper 7 and the transferred paper 10 are cut in the cutter section, and at the same time, a plunger 3a is attracted to cause an arm 3 to swing upward and push the rear of the sensitized paper 7. Since the forward portion of the sensitized paper 7 is held by the roller 2, and its rear portion is positioned by the guide 1, the sensitized paper 7 and the transferred paper 10 are bent as a result of said pushing action, however, since the tip of the transferred paper 10 is free, it can be separated from the sensitized paper 7 by virtue of the restoring force of the paper and the like.
