PURPOSE:To effectively transfer combustion heat without burning combustion means and a heat exchange part so as to prevent incomplete combustion, by providing a second heat transfer tube group disposed at the downstream in the vicinity of a first heat transfer group, and radiators disposed along the flow of a combustion gas constituting a first heat transfer group. CONSTITUTION:After premixing a fuel gas and air in a mixing chamber 14, the premixed gas passes through burner ports of a face burner plate 18 and is supplied to a combustion chamber 15 to form a flame. At positions in the vicinity of the face burner plate 18, a first heat transfer tube group 19 is laterally disposed. Radiation elements 20 having a height higher than the diameter of each heat transfer tube are disposed between respective heat transfer tubes of the first heat transfer group 19. These radiators 20 are vertically located substantially at the center of the interval of the heat transfer tubes so that the central part of the elements 20 has a height substantially higher than the shaft of the heat transfer tube, and emits radiant heat mainly toward both side surfaces of the first heat transfer tube group 19. As the radiation 20, an impermeable solid plate coarsened at its front surface or a solid plate such as that of permeable ceramic honeycomb member or the like is used.
