<p>The swarf discharge conveyor for metal working machine tools, partic. lathes, comprises a rotary auger whose free top end protrudes into the swarf outlet area from the tool, ensuring an unobstructed working area. The auger (2) is hollow, and fits closely inside a fixed, external guide tube (3) containing a longitudinal slot (36,37) open to the top. The top end of the auger protrudes freely from the tube. At the end, away from the tool, the slot pref. extends further in the peripheral direction of the tube and in the direction of rotation of the auger, but at an opposite pitch angle.</p> |
