Blood products for parenteral administration, which are essentially free of immunomodulating components, and processes for their preparation are described. The freedom from immunomodulating components is expressed by the lack or absence of a low-level modulation of Fc receptors in the membrane of leucocytes. The expression of the receptors for the Fc fragment of immunoglobulin G in the membrane of monocytes after interaction with a blood product preparation should not be reduced or at most by 30%. The blood products for parenteral administration are obtainable - by molecular sieving of the blood products, etc., gel permeation chromatography (gel filtration) or - by treatment of the blood products with a molecular sieve-like support material on which immunomodulating components are selectively adsorbed, or - by filtration of the blood products through filters having a pore diameter of equal to or less than 10 nm. |
