PURPOSE:To suppress the cost-up, and also, to designate an area with high accuracy by recognizing a position coordinate of a spot-like light beam by receiving a detection output of a photosensor, and determining a copy area, based on plural position coordinates recognized in the same way. CONSTITUTION:To an original 2 placed on platen glass, 1 a spot-like light beam is radiated by using a light pen 8, etc. An image line sensor 7 for copying an original placed under the platen glass 1 is used as a light receiving photosensor, and by bringing the original 2 to a plane scan, a position of the spot-like light beam is recognized as a position coordinate. By the place scan of cone, the position coordinate of a point of one part is recognized, and the plane scan is repeated by the number of times being equal to the points to be recognized. By recognizing two points with respect to this spot position, a designation, etc. of a square area in which its two points make a diagonal line can be executed. Also, when plural light sources are provided, plural points can be recognized by only scanning the image line sensor 7 once. In such a way, the cost-up is prevented and the copy area can be designated with high accuracy. |
