PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of weather resistance and to maintain a good signal quality, by providing a recording layer mainly composed of tellurium, selenium and lead and composing the recording layer such that content of lead differs in the direction of thickness. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium is composed of a substrate 1 and a recording layer 21 formed thereon. The recording layer 21 is mainly composed of tellurium, selenium and lead, and the content of lead differs in the direction of depth. Such a recording layer 21 is partially removed by laser beam to form a pit 22 for recording information. Consequently, weather resistance, sensibility and signal quality are improved. |
