PURPOSE:To excavate the ground below a caisson regardless of soil quality of the excavation face by providing a rotary device having an expandible excavating arm hung down from a ceiling and detachable rotary bucket or cutter loader being freely replaceable to the excavating arm. CONSTITUTION:An expandible excavating arm 11 is attached to a slewing base hung down from the ceiling of a pressured caisson, and a rotary device 14 provided detachably with a rotary bucket or cutter loader is provided freely replaceably to the tip of the arm 11. A belt conveyer 21 expandible in an interlocking manner with the expansion or contraction of the arm 11 is also provided to discharge soil. Excavating tools can be replaced according to the soil quality of excavating face and the excavator can be operated freely.
