PURPOSE:To facilitate forming of granular lead powder for a positive electrode plate so as to make battery capacity increasable by adding/mixing sulfuric acid with lead powder or lead oxide powder so as to once manufacture granular lead powder of lead sulfate and next adding/mixing this mixture with sulfuric acid. CONSTITUTION:Lead powder of 5 kg is put into a container and sulfuric acid of 200 cc and 1:300 in specific weight is added there, and next a rotation method is used to blend them for two minutes and to form granular lead powder whose diameter is comparatively small in the range of 0.001 mm to 0.08 mm. Sulfate in this granular lead powder is 3PbO.PbSO4.H2O (tri-basic lead sulfate) for the most part. When sulfuric acid is again added/mixed with the granular lead powder formed in this way to perform lead sulfate processing, PbO.PbSO4 (monobasic lead sulfate) is produced on a surface of the granular powder. Thus, capacity and life and the like in a lead storage battery can be improved. |
