PURPOSE:To attain two-way transmission in the same wavelength through an optical fiber by using an end face lighting type LED. CONSTITUTION:A single mode fiber 10, optical directional couplers 11, 12, an end face light emitting LED 13 and a photodetector 15 connected to the coupler 11 and an end face light emitting LED 14 and a photodetector 16 connected to the coupler 12 are used for the titled system. Using the LED, since the system is not susceptible to an externally incident light different from a laser diode, the effect by the light of the same wavelength from an opposite station is less and the same wavelength of the light source is used as the light source for 2-way transmission. |
