PURPOSE:To obtain the titled suppressive agent comprising an aqueous solution containing scopolia extract and a salt having buffering action. CONSTITUTION:A suppressive agent for gastrointestinal peristalsis comprising an aqueous solution containing 0.01-1w/v% scopolia extract and 0.01-1w/v% inorganic or organic salt having buffering action (e.g. sodium metaphosphate, acidic sodium pyrophosphate, sodium phosphate, sodium citrate, etc.) as active ingredients. A dose of scopolia extract when the suppressive agent is used is 2-200mg/time, preferably 10-50mg/time. A saccharide such as white sugar, lactose, fructose, glucose, etc., sugaralcohol such as D-sorbitol, etc., are used as a water-soluble excipient. The suppressive agent has low side effects such as hydrodipsia, motor ataxia, etc., and made into a form to be readily administered and medicated with a relatively small amount of water. The suppressive agent has relatively immediate effects and continues the effects for 30-90min. |
