PURPOSE:To permit surer correction of the bias travel of a continuous photosensitive member as compared to a mechanism for correcting the bias travel during application of a pressure thereto by correcting the bias travel of said member in the process for rewinding the part just before the photosensitive member is fed into the spacing between press rollers to the position just before a region where exposure is executed prior to execution of the next image formation. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive member 1 is held wound on a roller 13 and is rewound in this state in the process for rewinding the member 1 in a rewinding direction C after pressure development. The roller 13 is displaced to incline in the direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the member 1 when the member 1 travels biasedly and generates a positional deviation. Since a spacing is provided between the press rollers 16 and 17, the bias travel state of the member 1 is corrected in the process of rewinding. The sure correction of the bias travel is thereby executed even in the case of developing the material under a high pressure and the troubles in a conveyance system such as jam are decreased.
