PURPOSE:To expand optionally an original picture (n) times the longitudinal direction and (m) times the transverse direction to obtain a copy by copying m-number of partial pictures in a first row out of nXm-number of expanded partial pictures and repeating the same operation up to an n-th row. CONSTITUTION:The original picture is equally divided to nXm-number of partial pictures, and the partial picture in the first row of the first column is expanded and displayed throughout the displayable area on a display device 5 and is copied by a printer 7. When the copy is printed, coordinates of upper right and lower left points are stored in storage devices 8 and 9 respectively. The partial picture in the first row of the second column is expanded and displayed in the same manner. The printing head of the printer 7 is moved right by one printing unit of coordinates stored in the storage device 8 to copy the picture, thus obtaining a right and left continuous copy. The printer head is moved downward by one printing unit of coordinates stored in the storage device 9 to repeat the same operation as above-mentioned operation for two partial pictures in the second row. Thus, partial pictures of first and second rows are obtained as an upper and lower continuous copy by the printer 7. |
