PURPOSE:To surely and sufficiently lubricate a gear transmission, by providing a main oil passage in a rotary shaft while a branch oil passage, which branches from the main oil passage communicating with a tooth surface, in a gear, in case of the gear transmission of an engine. CONSTITUTION:Driving an engine 1, an oil pump 42 forces oil in an oil pan 46 to be press fed to a gear transmission 4 through a passage 44, and the oil, which passes through an oil passage 26 in a countershaft 20 branching into branch oil passages 30 of each gear 21-25 being allowed to flow in the tooth crest, lubricates meshing surfaces respectively of gears 11-14 of a main shaft 10 and gears of a differential gear 5. The oil after lubrication, which accumulates in the bottom part of a transmission case 3, is returned to the oil pan 46 via a pipe 45. In this way, the oil can be surely supplied to peripheral surfaces of the gears, and the gear transmission, which is sufficiently lubricated, enables the durability to be improved.
