PURPOSE:To increase a welding speed and to decrease the amt. of spatters to be generated by incorporating respectively specific % of C, Si and Mn into a titled wire, correlatively selecting the contents of Mn and Si and controlling the component contents of O and S to respectively prescribed %. CONSTITUTION:C is incorporated at >=0.15wt.%, Si at 0.05-0.45% and Mn at 0.45-2.0% into the component compsn. of the wire. The balance thereof is Fe and O as an impurity is controlled to 0.005-0.030% and S to <=0.010%. The contents of Mn and Si are so limited in a 0.45%<=Mn<=0.75% range as to satisfy the formula Mn=0.45+0.75(Si-0.05)(%). The contents of Si and Mn in the alloy compsn. of the wire are correlatively selected as shown by the formula and since the content of the impurity O is set at the adequate ratio, the welding speed is increased and further, the amt. of the spatters to be generated is suppressed and decreased.
