PURPOSE:To make overall improvement in photoconductive characteristic, use environmental characteristic, stability with lapse of time and durability by forming an electric charge transfer layer in such a manner as to have the part contg. the electrons belonging to group V of periodic table in the nonuniformly distributed state in the layer thickness direction as a material to control conductivity. CONSTITUTION:This photoreceptive layer has a photoreceptive layer 102 constituted of a non-single crystalline material consisting of silicon atom as a base material and contg. at least either of hydrogen atom and halogen atom on a base 101. This photoreceptive layer 102 had the layer constitution laminated with the charge transfer layer 103 and an electric charge generating layer 104 successively from the base 101 side. The charge transfer layer 103 contains at least one kind among the carbon atom, nitrogen atom and oxygen atom and has at least the part contg. the atoms belonging to the group V of periodic table in the nonuniformly distributed state in the layer thickness direction as the material to control the conductivity. Excellent initial electric chargeability, repetitive use characteristic, electrical breakdown strength characteristic, use environmental characteristic and durability are thereby obtd. |
