PURPOSE:To obtain a small and simple process kit by incorporating one manually openable and closable image carrier light shielding sheet in the process kit. CONSTITUTION:Since a photosensitive drum 1 is degraded when irradiated with the external light for a certain time, the photosensitive drum 1 must be shielded from light in case the drum 1 is left on the outside of a device but the process kit is made large-sized and complicated if plural automatically openable and closable light shielding covers are provided because of a wide light shielding range. Therefore, a light shielding function is realized by one light shielding sheet 18 and a spiral spring 19 for automatic storage. Since one light shielding sheet 18 which can be manually opened and closed as the light shielding means of an image carrier 1 is incorporated in the process kit where the image carrier 1, a cleaning means 7, and an electrifier 3 are constituted as one body and can be attached and detached, the process kit is miniaturized and simplified.
