A device for application of liquid has the following features: a) the device has an elastic container for the liquid; b) a headpiece is connected to the elastic container; c) arranged in the headpiece is a liquid application member for application of the liquid onto a surface provided therefor; d) the elastic container has, in an opening, a valve arrangement for the supply or blocking of the liquid from the elastic container to the headpiece as well as pressing sections in its sides; e) the valve arrangement can be actuated by pressing the pressing sections. In order that the device is more reliable and easier to operate and is suitable for different liquids, it is characterised by the following features: f) the elastic container (1) has an oval section (4) with an elliptical cross-section which consists of bent-short sections (2, 2') and bent-longer sections (3, 3'); g) the bent-longer sections (3, 3') have, in their respective central sections, actuating projections (5) in the form of inwardly projecting cutouts which form the pressing sections (6, 6'); h) the valve arrangement (19) has a valve rod (23) which bears a sliding block (26) with a suitable surface (27); i) the sliding block (26) is arranged between the two actuating projections (5). <IMAGE>
