The storage device has flat drawer containers which can be stacked laterally or vertically and which accommodate flat pocket carriers consisting of rows of flat pockets for the information media. The insertion direction (5) for the information media into the pocket carriers is perpendicular to the insertion direction (4) of the pocket carriers into the drawer container.
